Lukashenko: delays in decision making on implementation of Union State programmes are unacceptable

It will be possible to talk about a new package of integration documents only after the previous one has been fully implemented – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at a meeting on the implementation of the Union State integration programmes

In particular, the Head of State stressed, “Of course, we will continue to deepen economic integration with Russia, but it will be possible to talk about a new package of integration documents only after the complete implementation of the previous one. Even if at least one point has not been fulfilled – the new package of integration documents is out of question. We have firmly agreed on this with the President of the Russian Federation during our last meeting in St. Petersburg.”

The President draws attention to the fact that it is necessary to maximally intensify activities for the implementation of the Union State programmes, “Delays and red tape in decision-making are unacceptable, but there shouldn’t be any rush either. God forbid we make a mistake, and then we realise it, and begin to work backward. It will be impossible, because it will already be at the level of the two states’ laws, especially now, when our countries are jointly resisting the rabid sanctions pressure of the so-called collective West.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised that this is an issue of the economy, for which the two governments and both prime ministers are responsible.

“All the issues that you brought to the level of the presidents have been settled. Solutions have been found, we live in normal conditions,” the Head of State summed up.
