Lukashenko: Belarus ready to resume ties and form new contacts with Greece

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the people of Greece on Independence Day, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"For many decades, Minsk and Athens have been building co-operation based on Christian values, joint economic benefits, fair principles of international law and interstate liaisons. Despite the absence of common geographical borders, Belarus has always seen Greece as a good European neighbour and partner," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The Head of State stressed that the Belarusian side is ready to resume the lost economic ties and form new contacts in various areas.

"We invite you to use the opportunity to visit our country within the framework of the visa-free regime, to take part in a number of exhibitions, sports competitions, cultural events," the congratulatory message reads.

The President wished the people of Greece peace, progress and confidence in the future.
