Lukashenko and doctors exchange gifts

During his visit to the Mother and Child Republican Scientific and Practical Centre today, Aleksandr Lukashenko presented an ultrasonic scanner of the expert class

The device is designed for a wide range of research: obstetric-gynaecological, urological, vascular and cardiological, as well as in the field of paediatrics and neonatology. The scanner has a colour and energy doppler, is able to produce real-time volumetric imaging and panoramic scanning, and its software can improve image quality. The use of such a device will enable doctors to ensure fetal monitoring and detect its possible abnormalities, including congenital heart defects.

The Head of State also brought sweet gifts to the Mother and Child Centre – fruit baskets – from his CIS colleagues from southern countries. They were handed over to the doctors. All mothers undergoing treatment also received gifts from the President.

Belarus’ Healthcare Minister, Dmitry Pinevich, presented Aleksandr Lukashenko with a pre-revolutionary wooden stethoscope found in an outpatient clinic in the Vitebsk Region. Obstetric stethoscope is one of the most necessary medical tools. Last year, the medical community celebrated the 205th anniversary of the invention of this device.
