Kendall: F-16s delivered to Kiev will be based in Ukraine
F-16 fighter-bombers will be based in Ukraine after their delivery to Kiev – as informed by US Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall, TASS reports
"We are talking about Ukrainian – not NATO – ammunition. If they become part of the Ukrainian Air Force, I assume that they will be deployed in Ukraine," Mr. Kendall said, answering the question of whether the West is considering basing these aircraft on the territory of one of the NATO member countries.
The US Secretary of the Air Force added that the place of Ukrainian pilots’ training for the use of F-16 aircraft has not yet been determined. Responding to the clarifying question on whether this will be the United States or Europe, he said, "No decision has been made on the issue at this stage."
