Ivanovsky: Ukrainian special services suffered not the first fiasco in Belarus

Explosions of railway tracks, surveillance of the movement of military equipment and the installation of caches with explosives and weapons – all this was recently carefully prepared by those who worked for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and were preparing to kill peaceful Belarusians for money. Professor of the Department of Information Law of the Criminal Police Faculty at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Aleksandr Ivanovsky, revealed the reasons that prevented these bloody plans from realising.

“Ukrainian special services suffered not the first fiasco in Belarus. Everyone remembers well the neutralisation of the Autukhovich gang, which tried to stage a whole series of explosions on the railway; the detention of a terrorist after the explosion in Machulishchi; the liquidation of a Grodno militant; the arrests of traitors to the Motherland who worked for foreign intelligence services and other demonstrative operations of our law enforcement officers. All those detained during the latest high-profile events are only executors, while strategic decision-making centres are located outside of Belarus. The initiative of these centres continues to grow, suggesting that attempts are continuing to expand the zone of military conflict unleashed in Ukraine by destabilising the situation in Belarus. This is being done with a long-term view: it is necessary to divert significant forces of Russian troops on the Ukrainian front in order to weaken their offensive potential. Worsening the situation in Europe as a whole is also a strategic goal. The calculation is made that dragging Belarus into the conflict will entail enormous financial costs and collapse of our country’s economy. Meanwhile, thanks to the balanced policy of the President and the professional actions of the Belarusian special services, such threats can be neutralised,” noted Aleksandr Ivanovsky.
