Industry Ministry completes preparations for signing agreement on Belarus-Russia common industrial policy

The Belarusian Industry Ministry has completed all domestic procedures to prepare for the signing of an agreement between the governments of Belarus and the Russian Federation on a common industrial policy – as reported in the Industry Ministry’s press service

The draft agreement was approved by the Government of Belarus. The Industry Ministry has been authorised to conduct negotiations on the draft of this document. Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik has been authorised to sign the agreement.

Domestic procedures for preparing for the signing of the agreement are carried out by the Russian side.

The agreement between the two countries’ governments on a common industrial policy will be aimed at improving the efficiency and competitiveness of industrial products of the states in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as at forming a modern structure of national industrial complexes.

In particular, it is planned to implement a common industrial policy through the development of industrial and technological co-operation, the creation of transnational economic structures, the development and implementation of joint industrial and sci-tech programmes, etc.
