IMF predicts increase in US public debt
The level of public debt of the United States of America this year will increase to 122.2 percent of GDP and continue to grow; in 2028, it will reach 136.2 percent of GDP, according to the report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), RIA Novosti reports
According to the IMF calculations, next year, the US public debt will grow to 125.8 percent of GDP, in 2025 – to 129.1 percent of GDP and will continue to rise.
In line with IMF calculations, based on the results of the past year, the US public debt reached 121.7 percent of GDP.
Earlier, the IMF warned Europe about the energy crisis in the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict. According to the IMF report, the ongoing crisis will increase the risks of food security in low-income countries.
