It is noted that employees of hospitals, psychiatric clinics, care facilities and emergency services are participating in the strike.

According to the Tagesschau, in Bavaria alone, more than 30 municipal hospitals and district clinics, as well as several institutions providing care for the elderly are taking part in the strike. The exact number of striking doctors in Germany is unknown.

The strike is expected to continue on March 15th.

The Verdi trade union is demanding an increase in salaries for state employees by 10.5 percent, but not less than 500 Euros per month.

Mass strikes have already taken place in Germany and other EU states. Yesterday, in connection with the mass warning strikes of aviation security workers more than 350 flights were cancelled at the airports of Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen and Hannover.
