Viktor Lukashenko noted that Belarus tried to make a real holiday for athletes and guests in August, “The whole country was preparing. I personally attended many competitions during the Games, talked with athletes and coaches, and everyone admitted that everything was organised at a high level. Once again I was convinced that Belarusians not only like to hold such tournaments, but also know how to conduct them.”

The Head of the National Olympic Committee assured that it is possible to hold tournaments of the highest level in Belarus.

“Despite sanctions from international federations, during this time we – together with the Russian Olympic Committee – the ministries of sports of Belarus and Russia, managed to build a clear calendar. I’m convinced that together we can organise large-scale competitions of any level.”
