German politician: Ukraine should make territorial concessions to Russia in order to start peace talks
German politician Sahra Wagenknecht believes Ukraine must make territorial concessions to Russia so that peace talks could start, RIA Novosti reports
Ms. Wagenknecht noted that Ukraine should abandon the prospect of joining NATO and make territorial concessions, adding that ‘the negotiating position for Kiev and the West is worse today than it was two years ago’.
The politician also stated that the thesis promoted by Western elites that more weapons should be supplied so that Ukraine's negotiating position improves has not been confirmed.
On June 4th, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in the direction of South Donetsk, Artemovsk and Zaporozhye. Kiev sent the brigades trained by NATO and armed with Western military hardware to battles, but failed to deal even with the tactical defence of Russian troops, suffering serious losses.
