German media: data from German and US intelligence services leaked to Internet
A major data leak has been recorded on the online platform for checking files for viruses VirusTotal. The network got information about the intelligence agencies of the United States and Germany, Der Spiegel reports.
It’s reported that in late June 2023, a list of 5,600 users of the VirusTotal service was in the public domain. It contained the names of the organisations.
The list includes the US Army Cyber Command, the US Department of Justice, the FBI and the US National Security Agency, as well as the names of employees of the German Military Counterintelligence Service, the Federal Criminal Police Office, a secret division of the German Federal Intelligence Service and the police.
The publication also reported that the German Federal Office for Information Security confirmed the leak.
