General Staff representative: preserving peace is Belarusians’ most important achievement

The most important achievement of Belarus is that its citizens live in peace – as noted by Andrei Bogodel, the Deputy Head of the Department for Educational and Scientific Work of the Faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, in his talk with SB TV

Summing up the results of 2023 and addressing Belarusians with New Year's greetings, Mr. Bogodel said, “In our difficult times, the wish for a peaceful sky above our heads will never sound banal. The fact is that the world is very shaky. I do not know what would have happened after 2020 if we had not stood our ground in those most serious conditions, if the Head of State, God forbid, had wavered, if the army and the entire military organisation of the state had given in.”

The military official believes that, if the country had not managed to survive in 2020, the issue of the existence of the Belarusian people would be very acute today. “The preservation of peace is the most important achievement of our people today. It must be kept. There can never be too much peace. God forbid that a trouble – like a war – ever comes to our land. Therefore, the most important wish now is peace over the head of our dear blue-eyed Belarus. Our people deserve the most important thing: peace," Mr. Bogodel concluded.
