Speaking of how the industrial integration process is progressing within the Union State, Mr. Konyushko noted, “As regards industrial co-operation with our main partner [Russia], we have found common ground. Twenty-six integration processes are being implemented using the funds of a Russian loan at present.”
According to the First Deputy Industry Minister, systematic daily work is underway in such areas as automotive, aircraft and component base manufacturing in order to implement the projects that will ensure not just import substitution, but import independence of the Union State.
Mr. Konyushko added that the creation of common products is important for industrial independence within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, mentioning MAZ as an example. He recalled that, before the sanctions were imposed, a small part of components had been supplied to the plant by unfriendly countries. The situation changed later, and the necessary spare parts now come mainly from Russia.
