Expert shed light on achievements of Belarusian Air Force

In 2022, the Belarusian Air Force was ranked 47th globally, and the country’s Armed Forces occupied the 52nd position. Last year, according to American experts, Belarus was placed 12th – much due to the increased capabilities of the Belarusian Air Force. Chief of Aviation Leonid Davidovich, the Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, commented on the achievements in his talk with SB TV.

According to Mr. Davidovich, American ratings almost always pursue a special goal, “Of course, Americans always place their own aviation on the top, since this directly affects the sale of aviation equipment. Nevertheless, objective trends are also displayed there. Of course, our Air Force has received a significant amount of new – truly combat – equipment over the past few years. We now service, perhaps, one of the most modern Su-30SM fighters, Mi-35M helicopters, we have a Mi-8-MTV-5 helicopter at our disposal – also of the latest modifications. Therefore, I think these ratings, of course, reflect the positive trends in the renewal of our aviation fleet.”

The expert noted that currently there are not so many countries in the world that produce their own aircraft and have new equipment at their disposal. “We are just one of them, as we purchase the newest and most modern aviation equipment from the Russian Federation. For example, a Su-30SM aircraft has great capabilities, it is a universal fighter. It copes well with both air and ground targets. Therefore, these planes and helicopters are among the top ten, and this is an objective assessment,” he added.
