Alla Shepelkevich explained that excessive sugar consumption produces high calorie density, “This in turn results in the scourge of modern times – overweight and obesity. Sugar also slowly and imperceptibly causes addiction and the formation of fatal diseases. Due to excessive consumption of sucrose, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, tooth decay, and diseases of the reproductive system in women develop. Moreover, oncologists have long proven that this carbohydrate contributes to the development of various types of cancer. Therefore, people who are at risk of such diseases should reduce their sugar consumption.”

In addition to the development of various diseases, glucose contributes to the development of depression, leads to digestive disorders, and increases the likelihood of recurrence of these conditions.

The average person consumes about 30 teaspoons of added sugar per day. Alla Shepelkevich stated that the permissible amount of this simple carbohydrate is 5-6 teaspoons.

“It is worth remembering that people consume sugar not only with tea and coffee. Sucrose is also found in other foods, such as buns, meat products, sausages, and fruits. Therefore, it is necessary to keep your sugar intake under 6 teaspoons a day,” the expert added.

Be careful when buying a particular product in the supermarket, pay attention to how much sugar it contains. Do not try to completely remove carbohydrate from the diet, because it helps to improve mood. However, experts advise to include the calculation of consumed sugar in your daily habits, then, perhaps, the listed diseases will bypass.
