EEC Board Chairman on Belarus’ elections: highly positive assessment
The Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, made a statement during his today’s meeting with the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, saying that he highly appreciated the level of organisation and holding of Single Voting Day
Bakytzhan Sagintayev said that the day before he talked with compatriots who participated in monitoring the election campaign in Belarus, in particular with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, Deputy Secretary General of the SCO, and heard only positive feedback, “They came here as observers and noted a high level of organisation. Everything went smoothly and well, and a highly positive assessment was given. People are happy. It was actually a holiday.”
The guest also appreciated a high turnout during early voting, “Many people actively voted, and that was also the result of the work that had been carried out. It may not have been noticeable from the first sight, but the result shows that everything went well and calmly on election day.”
