The situation around Belarus continues to be tense, Western countries are increasing their armaments. With this in view, Mr. Tumar commented on how ordinary citizens should behave in such situation.

"It is necessary to rely on professionals, military personnel who are engaged into the country’s defence. We can observe certain militarisation [around the world] now, and its degree has risen almost to hysteria. Meanwhile, Belarus pursues a social policy, and much money is not spent on the Armed Forces. At the same time, there is peace in the country,” he said.

Mr. Tumar explained why Belarusians feel calm now, “It is owing to our state’s policy of peacefulness, neutrality and the choice of allies.”
