Defence Minister: strike groups can be created near Belarus’ borders under guise of NATO exercises
Under the guise of NATO exercises, strike groups can be created near the borders of Belarus – as stated by Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin in his talk with the Rossiya-24 TV channel, BelTA reports
"Active redeployment is registered, and the Commander-in-Chief has set a task: to keep our eyes and ears open. After all, strike groups can be created under the guise of these exercises, and the most important task for us is to see whether these groups are being created or not," Mr. Khrenin said.
According to the Defence Minister, the stage of creating groups is in place as part of the NATO drills. “We attentively monitor what training grounds they come to and what they consist of. We continue these observations, and – if these actions really start transforming into the creation of more powerful groups or something else – our response will follow,” he stressed.
