BUCE to organise trading sessions to sell Belarusian timber to Pakistan

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) is ready to consider the possibility of holding special trading sessions for the sale of Belarusian woodworking products with delivery to the final owner in service – as noted by Aleksandr Bashliy, the Head of BUCE’s Foreign Relations, during online B2B negotiations with Pakistani timber importers

“Special export trading sessions are one of the most effective tools for ensuring regular deliveries of Belarusian goods to target markets. We hope that they will expand trade-economic co-operation between Belarus and Pakistan while influencing the increase in the volume of exchange trade between the two countries. For example, last year, thanks to the special session, it was possible to significantly increase exports of timber products to China and the UK; at present, this instrument is successfully being used in trade with Azerbaijan. As a result, according to the results of five months, the supply of sawn timber to this market almost tripled,” Mr. Bashliy drew attention.

The BUCE added that the main advantage of special sessions for exporters is the ability to offer goods at a competitive price while foreign companies do not need to discuss logistics since the purchased goods can be picked up in the country of destination.

“The exchange mechanism serves the interests of Belarusian and foreign companies, ensuring an additional sales channel and control over compliance with the rules,” he noted.

Online B2B negotiations with leading timber importers from Pakistan were organised by the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study in co-operation with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Pakistan and the All-Pakistan Timber Traders Association.
