Borovik: Lukashenko seeks to use Belarus’ geopolitical position to the maximum benefit for the people

Aleksandr Lukashenko is pursuing an absolutely competent policy aimed at making the most of Belarus’ geopolitical position – as noted by political scientist Vadim Borovik in his talk with Alfa Radio

Plans to deploy Russian nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus have been actively discussed in the information field in recent days. In this regard, programme host Vadim Shepet recalled one of the questions that the President asked the Belarusian people last year whether the citizens of Belarus are ready to pay for their own defence and state. Indeed, if the country’s security is to be ensured by other means, it can take enormous money.

“Aleksandr Lukashenko saves money for the country all the time. However, we are not dependents. In return, we offer geopolitical and military-political services. We always offer our partners a solution that will be beneficial for both parties,” said Vadim Borovik.

According to him, the President seeks to use our geopolitical position to the maximum benefit for the people. The expert called the latter both our happiness and misfortune.

“On the one hand, all wars and conflicts are on this plain. On the other hand, everyone is interested in having their influence here. And the fact that Aleksandr Lukashenko seeks to use our position to the maximum advantage is an absolutely normal position. This is the only correct course of the head of a sovereign state. At the same time, he offers partners such a format of relationships that is absolutely beneficial for our Russian colleagues as well,” the speaker added.

At the same time, Vadim Borovik underlined that funds are being allocated in the country for the security bloc.

“We live in a world where, if you do not have the opportunity to protect yourself, no one will listen to you at all, they will wipe their feet about you. Moreover, no one will take into account your economic interests. When we support the security bloc, we also ensure the interests of investors and entrepreneurs, we ensure peace and stability, and create conditions for the development of the economy. Therefore, investments in the security bloc are investments, including in the economy,” Vadim Borovik summed up.
