Opinion: the war in Ukraine will last as long as politicians need it
It is already clear that Russia will settle all its issues in Ukraine – as stated by Colonel Andrei Bogodel, Deputy Head of the Department for Educational and Scientific Work – Head of the Educational and Methodology Department of the Faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Military Academy of Belarus, in his talk with SB TV
As Andrei Bogodel noted, military affairs are not just a continuation of politics, but its object.
“Whatever the politicians decide, so it will be. We can say that in Ukraine today there are no questions towards the military, all questions are towards politicians. Having enormous human potential, Russia does not create superiority in manpower. It means this is needed for something. It means that important political issues are being decided that need to be looked at not within the framework of small Ukraine, but within the framework of geostrategy as a whole,” the speaker underlined.
According to him, military operations in Ukraine will continue as long as politicians need.
“Russia, having enormous potential, can solve this problem very quickly. It is already clear that the Russian Federation will push through the issues with Ukraine and completely resolve them. For Russia, it is no longer so important what happens at the front. In my opinion, everyone understood that during a special military operation, the fate of Ukraine would be decided in a matter of days,” added the expert.
In this regard, he recalled the unsuccessful counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops, “Initially they said that nothing could be done as part of this counteroffensive. Such an operation cannot cope with decisive tasks. What do we see today? The Ukrainian Armed Forces have not even reached the front line of defence yet, being hampered either by the mines, or the bushes, or the wrong tanks...”
