Belarusian parliamentarians to take part in observation of Russian presidential elections

The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, as part of the Observer Mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States, will monitor the presidential elections in Russia on March 15th-17th, 2024, sb.by reports with reference to the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly

The delegation, consisting of members of the Council of the Republic and the deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the staff of the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly, will be headed by the deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, the First Deputy Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly, Olga Petrashova.

The observers from the Parliamentary Assembly will visit polling stations in Moscow and the Smolensk Region. They plan to hold meetings with the leadership of the Central Election Commission of Russia, the election commissions of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, district, territorial, and precinct election commissions. Meetings with the heads of legislative and executive authorities of Russian regions are also planned during the visit.

The press service noted that the Parliamentary Assembly deputies plan to summarise the results of their work as international observers at a press conference on March 18th.
