BELARUS tractor assembly production to be set up in Russia’s Vladimir Region

It is planned to establish an assembly plant for Belarusian tractors in the Vladimir Region of Russia – as noted by Vitaly Vovk, the Director General of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ), discussing the prospects for industrial co-operation at a meeting with Vladimir Region Governor Alexander Avdeev – as reported in the MTZ press service

It was noted during the talks that the need for technology in the Vladimir Region is constantly growing. The authorities of this Russian region are constantly purchasing tractors and other MTZ equipment to satisfy the needs of the road sector and the housing and communal sector. Therefore, the main topic of the meeting was the possible establishment of an assembly plant for Belarusian tractors in the region on the basis of the Vladimir Region enterprises.

The press service of the Vladimir Region government reported that in the current conditions it would be difficult to establish a full-cycle branch of MTZ. At the same time, it is possible to assemble individual components and assemblies in the region, using the capacities of the ITKOL-Tochmash industrial technopark and the Dobrograd-1 special economic zones.

Minsk Tractor Works is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery, offering over 100 tractor models in more than 200 assembly options for all climatic and operating conditions. New models have wide possibilities of aggregation with agricultural machines of various manufacturers. MTZ develops, manufactures and exports wheeled tractors and spare parts for them, organises their production abroad on a license basis, provides services for setting up and servicing the delivered machines, and provides training in the operation and maintenance of the manufactured equipment.
