Belarus to implement mega-science projects with help of Russian fast neutron reactor

A co-operation agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Rusatom Bel, and Consortium Leader of MBIR Reactor International Research Centre has been signed on the sidelines of ATOMEXPO forum in Sochi

Commenting on the signing of the document, Director of Rusatom Bel (Rosatom’s country office in Belarus) Stanislav Levitsky noted, “Nowadays, the topic of mega-science is very relevant: these are objects, whose implementation is possible only with the involvement of significant resources, but which move science forward. The multi-purpose fast neutron research reactor (MBIR) – currently being built in Russia – is the most powerful in the world. To provide other countries with the opportunity to engage in such research, Rosatom has created a consortium through which teams from other countries join us. Belarus will be able to take time for research, training, and production of specific isotopes.”
