Belarus’ light grenade launcher complex to be presented at MILEX-2023
Belspetsvneshtechnika enterprise of the State Authority for Military Industry will present the Sapphire light multipurpose grenade launcher complex in Minsk, the State Authority for Military Industry reports in its Telegram channel
The grenade launcher complex includes a transport and launch container with a grenade and an autonomous launcher. Additionally, the grenade launcher complex can be equipped with a fire control device.
The weapon has a calibre of 61mm, a length of 750mm, and a weight of 4.5kg.
The grenade launcher system ensures the destruction of targets at a maximum range of up to 1,000m, with a sighting range of 500m.
The used multi-purpose warhead provides a breach of a reinforced concrete wall up to 150mm thick, a brick wall – 250mm, as well as penetration of homogeneous steel armour up to 200mm thick. The fragmentation effect of the ammunition makes it possible to hit manpower in personal armour protection equipment within a radius of up to 7m.
The new high-energy engine with minimal change in thrust makes it possible to fire from enclosed spaces. Shooting can be carried out from a single piece, or a cluster of up to four pieces.
