Belarus, Iraq to develop co-operation in education, sports and legal assistance

During his working trip to Baghdad, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Turkiye and the Republic of Iraq, Viktor Rybak, met with the Minister of Justice of Iraq, Khaled Schwani, Belarus’ Foreign Ministry reports

The parties discussed the Belarus-Iraq interaction in matters of mutual legal assistance, prospects for expanding the regulatory framework of bilateral co-operation.

Viktor Rybak also met with the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, Ahmed al-Mubarka. In their talk, they focused on the potential of Belarusian sports facilities, which can be used by the Iraqi side during the training camps of national teams in various sports.

In addition, the Belarusian diplomat met with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq, Naim Aboudi. The interest in strengthening co-operation between higher educational institutions of the two countries was expressed.

Viktor Rybak invited the Iraqi officials to visit Belarus to continue the dialogue with relevant ministries and departments.
