Belarus as CSTO chair intends to hold international conference on security in Eurasia
Belarus, as chair of the CSTO, intends to hold an international conference in Minsk on the prospects for security in Eurasia in H2 2023 – as stated by Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich, speaking at the High-Level Segment of the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva
“We hope that an attempt to discuss this great perspective will bring the world closer to recognising the legitimate and justified concerns of each state, to creating on this basis in the future a stable system of equal and indivisible security with appropriate individual and collective guarantees,” said Yuri Ambrazevich.
According to the Belarusian representative, the Conference on Disarmament, taking into account its unique mandate, could also contribute step by step to achieving this goal, returning the world to expert awareness of the problems of general militarisation and the arms race, the threats of which are becoming a reality.
