Belarus among world leaders in food exports

Belarus maintains a high position in the world rankings for the export of major food groups. In 2023, exports in physical terms increased for almost all commodity items – as stated by the Head of the Main Department of Livestock Intensification and Fisheries Activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Natalia Sonich, at the opening of the 3rd International Forum Belarus Agrarian. According to Natalia Sonich, sales abroad of sausage products, canned meat, poultry meat, cheeses, butter, whole milk products, dry dairy products, rapeseed oil, finished fish products, sugar, potatoes, vegetables and other goods have increased, indicating the demand for our products in foreign markets. 

Domestic products are supplied to more than 100 countries around the world. Traditionally, the main sales markets are Russia and other CIS countries. However, work is constantly underway to expand the list of non-CIS countries. In 2023, 26 Belarusian food industry enterprises were granted the right to export to China. In October 2023, milk powder was sold to Cuba. Sales of certain types of food to African countries are increasing.
