Belarusian border guards found two foreign nationals carrying the body of their companion in the Braslav District, the Vitebsk Region, sb.by reports citing the press service of Belarus’ Investigative Committee

Law enforcement officers and paramedics arrived at the scene. Through an interpreter, the citizens of the Republic of Eritrea said that they had been in Latvia, where they were detained by men in uniform. According to them, their mobile phones were taken away and smashed, after which they were forcibly put into a van, beaten and shocked with stun guns. A 29-year-old man died due to these actions. Then, the surviving migrants were taken to the border and forced to cross into Belarusian territory.
Detectives examined the scene and the body of the deceased. The victims received the necessary medical assistance. The Braslav District Department of the Investigative Committee is investigating the incident. Forensic medical examinations have been appointed.
