Baerbock urged partners to create air defence umbrella over Ukraine by winter
Before the onset of winter, it is worth creating a defensive umbrella of air defence systems over the Ukrainian infrastructure – as noted by Head of the German Foreign Ministry Annalena Baerbock, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
Baerbock said that during a visit to a substation near Kiev that she was once again convinced of the need to protect electricity, water and heat supplies in anticipation of cold weather.
“Therefore, I appeal to us and our partners: we must extend the winter defence umbrella of air defence over Ukraine’s critical infrastructure,” the minister added.
According to her, during autumn, Berlin is going to additionally transfer IRIS-T air defence systems to Kiev, and also ask its allies to provide their air defence systems at least for a limited period.
