Almost half of early grain crops sown in Belarus

Sowing of early spring cereals (without corn, buckwheat and millet) has reached 46 percent of the planned figures in Belarus – covering 293,000 hectares of fields, the Agriculture and Food Ministry reports

The Brest Region, in the south of the country, will soon complete its sowing campaign: early crops already occupy 87 percent of the planned fields here. In the Grodno Regio, 80 percent of all crops have been sown, in the Gomel Region – 75 percent, in the Minsk Region – 36 percent. In Vitebsk and Mogilev regions, field work always starts later due to weather conditions: 3 and 7 percent have been sown there, respectively.

Sowing of flax, sugar beet and annual grasses has begun in Belarus as well.
