Expert: Russian-Belarusian roaming model to be introduced in EAEU from March 1st, 2025

From March 1st, 2025, the Russian-Belarusian roaming model will extend to all five countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) – as noted by the Director of the Antimonopoly Regulation Department at the Eurasian Economic Commission, Aleksei Sushkevich, who took part in the public reception office of the competition and antimonopoly regulation block of the Eurasian Economic Commission

One of the commission’s tasks is to equalise the conditions for the provision of mobile communication services in roaming.

“Equalisation of conditions across all five EAEU members and a significant reduction in the tariffs at which this service is provided are the major goals. The Russian-Belarusian roaming, enabling communication services absolutely accessible to Russian subscribers in Belarusian networks and for Belarusian subscribers in Russian networks, is an example for us. It was possible to achieve the cancellation of incoming fees for a subscriber who is in roaming, and to sharply reduce the cost of an outgoing call from a person who is in roaming. This is a model for us. We are trying to replicate such institutional foundations of the Russian-Belarusian roaming in all five EAEU members,” explained Aleksei Sushkevich.
