Zyuganov: fascism threatens each of us
In 1945, it seemed to us that fascism was completely defeated, but the Anglo-Saxons decided otherwise. They sent all the Hitlerite methods, everything connected with violence and fascism overseas and then subsequently unleashed a whole series of wars – as noted today by the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Head of the Communist Party faction in the Russian State Duma, Gennady Zyuganov, on the sidelines of the anti-fascist forum Tasks of the International Communist Movement in Struggle for Solidarity of Progressive Forces against New Fascist Threat to Humanity, which brought together representatives of over fifty countries in Minsk
The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation noted the symbolism of holding today’s event on the birthday of the founder of the Communist Party, Vladimir Lenin, and recalled the achievements of the Soviet era, “We managed to build 9,000 factories within a decade, which determined the development of the planet in the future. When the fascist Reich captured virtually the entire continental Europe and rushed to the east to destroy the Soviet country, the USSR inflicted a crushing defeat on fascism. In May 1945, the planet was cleansed of fascism and celebrated the Great Victory. It seemed to us that fascism was completely defeated, but the Anglo-Saxons decided otherwise. They sent all the Hitlerite methods, everything connected with violence and fascism overseas and then subsequently unleashed a whole series of wars. The main war was waged against the Russian world and our country. Today, this war, in fact, has grown into a hot war: informational, technological, including military.”
Gennady Zyuganov recalled, “Today, native Ukraine fell into the clutches of the Nazis, fascists, Bandera under the leadership of American provocateurs and CIA agents. This war has already claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. I hope that together today we will make a decision that will unite all patriots on our planet, because fascism threatens each of us. We have gathered for this forum in truly fraternal Belarus. Before the start of the event, the entire delegation passed through the museum, and I want to say that this is the most unique museum on the planet. Fraternal Belarus is the only country in the world that paid for the victory over fascism with the life of every third citizen. We also visited Khatyn which is a monument to courage and steadfastness, a reminder to all of us of the crimes of fascism and Nazism.”
Returning to the topic of the forum, the leader of the Communist Party underlined, “I hope that the manifesto that we will adopt today will stir up the entire planet, unite patriots, communist and left-wing patriotic movements, because Nazism and fascism today threaten everyone who honestly and honourably works on this beautiful land.”
The anti-fascist forum is being held at the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History. The programme of the grandiose event includes the holding of the international anti-fascist conference with the adoption of the final resolution by the forum participants, as well as the laying of the Alley of Peace and Creation in the Belarusian capital.
The Russian side is represented by the leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Central Council of the UPC-CPSU. Leaders and representatives of the communist parties of Armenia, Georgia, Abkhazia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Portugal, Germany and Hungary also arrived in Minsk. Communists of Moldova, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Transnistria, South Ossetia, Turkmenistan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and other communist parties from Europe, Asia and America are participating in the anti-fascist forum via videoconference.
