Young journalists from China will act as Belarus radio presenters in the Chinese language. In addition, joint programmes and radio bridges dedicated to the topic of Belarusian-Chinese co-operation will be organised.

“Development of contacts with foreign partners is an important part of our broadcasting policy,” Valery Radutsky, the Chief Director of the Belarus International Radio, says. “Taking into account a strategic nature of liaisons between Belarus and China and also the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries which is celebrated in 2022, we believe such interaction will be important and promising. The Belarus International Radio also co-operates with the Chinese Government’s official news agency Xinhua and China News Service.”

The radio primarily aims to create a positive image of Belarus in the global media space – which is especially topical when working with the Chinese-language audience.

As the Belarusian TV and Radio Company has informed, the Director of the School of Journalism and Communication of Luoyang Normal University appreciated a high level of Belarusian journalism in general and professionalism of the Belarus radio staff, also recognising the popularity of radio programmes among the Chinese audience.

The Belarus International Radio was established in 1962 and now offers round-the-clock broadcasting in nine languages, also being available on the Internet. Its programmes cover Belarus’ political, economic, social and cultural life.
