Yegorov: Belarus, Nicaragua achieved results in short time that many take decades

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Aleksandr Yegorov during his meeting with Nicaragua President’s Advisor for Investment, Trade, and International Co-operation Laureano Facundo Ortega Murill, sb.by reports

In particular, the Belarusian official underlined that active interaction between Belarus and Nicaragua began a couple of years ago, but through intensive negotiations and mutual visits, the parties managed in a short time to achieve the results that other countries take decades, “We can say that with one trial deal to supply Belarusian-made trucks to Nicaragua, we immediately exceeded export figures by one and a half times.”

Mr. Yegorov asserted that this trial deal and existing agreements indicate that the current trade-economic liaisons will be significantly increased.

“We’re ready to declare that all the bilateral agreements on the supply of goods will be supported by a loan from the Development Bank,” he assured.

The Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration also focused on the possibility of creating assembly plants for Belarusian equipment in Nicaragua for its subsequent sale to the countries of the region. He informed the Nicaraguan side that a large meeting was held in Belarus with the President’s participation discussing the country’s industrial development, at which the Head of State identified the establishment of assembly facilities in friendly countries as one of the strategic directions.

“In order to develop these areas, it is necessary to work out the visit of the government delegation to negotiate with the Nicaraguan government on the creation of such production facilities,” suggested Aleksandr Yegorov.

In his opinion, this is important, because it will ensure additional growth in terms of exports of products to other countries in the region, enabling the agreements on the supply of Belarusian equipment to become permanent rather than one-time.

In conclusion, the Deputy Head of the President Administration voiced another proposal to explore the possibility of a visit of the Nicaraguan delegation to Belarus to get acquainted with those industries that had not previously been presented to the Nicaraguan side, and productions that are unique worldwide to a certain extent.
