Xie Xiaoyon: China supports Belarus' official entry into SCO

The Chinese side has always firmly supported Belarus in protecting its state sovereignty and national dignity, and it opposes interference by external forces in the internal affairs of Belarus – as stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus, Xie Xiaoyon, during an online meeting on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China

The videoconference – organised by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Belarus – was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the head of a working group on co-operation with China’s Parliament, Valery Mitskevich, representatives of Belarusian ministries and public organisations.

“The People's Republic of China respects the path of development chosen by the Belarusian people, highly appreciates the efforts of the Belarusian side to maintain stable socio-economic development. The Belarusian side has also always firmly supported the Chinese side in matters concerning the fundamental interests and important concerns of China,” Xie Xiaoyun said.

The Chinese diplomat added, “Both states, on the basis of mutual trust, co-operate in various fields, provide mutual assistance and support in a difficult international situation. China supports Belarus' official accession to the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation and believes Belarus will make a valuable contribution to its development.”
