UN Chief says situation in Ukraine is far from establishing peace

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres gave his forecast regarding the time frame for establishing peace in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports

António Guterres stressed that the goal of the UN is to end hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, but for this ‘there is still a certain way to go’. “Peace is of course the objective of us all – peace in line with international law and with the UN Charter. But I think that we are still relatively away from it,” said the UN Secretary General.

He also urged ‘to do everything to accelerate moving in that direction’.

Earlier, António Guterres spoke about the unprecedented challenges that the UN has to face in the modern world.
