Turchin: state pays respect with Order of Mother to ladies with many children

The Order of Mother is a tribute from the state to mothers with many children – as noted by the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Turchin, at a solemn event dedicated to the women's holiday and the presentation of the state award, the Order of Mother, to representatives of the country’s central region, BelTA reports

"Every event for awarding mothers with many children with the Order of Mother is always very exciting. Mothers differ but they all are united by their great love for children. After all, giving birth and raising five or more children is actually a feat. They all need to be given attention, assisted in their homework, provided care when they are ill, but the most important thing is to educate children. Therefore, these women deserve the utmost respect, and the state pays tribute to them with such a high award as the Order of Mother, appreciating their contribution to the development of our country. All these children are the future of our Belarus, a worthy future," Mr. Turchin said, adding that the number of large families is growing in the Minsk Region – and this is an encouraging tendency.

“I would like this growth to be even faster, so that there are more young citizens not only in the region, but also in the country as a whole. This is one of the priorities of any state. I would like to wish all women good health, optimism and well-being. I would like them to hear kind words not only today, but daily,” he said.

There are now 21,727 large families in the Minsk Region, in which 70,990 minor children are brought up. In the period from 2011 to 2024, 2,626 women were awarded the Order of Mother in the region.

In 2024, forty-five ladies of the Minsk Region have been awarded, and 19 of them have been invited to the Palace of the Republic to be presented with the women’s main award by Aleksandr Turchin.
