Three new metro stations planned for Minsk in two years

Over the next two years, construction of three new metro stations will be completed in the capital – as informed by the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, in his talk with the ONT TV channel

According to the official, the main task of Minsk’s transport sector deals with expansion of the city’s subway lines.

“In Minsk, we primarily focus on metro development in the transport sector: more than 850,000 people use its services daily. With this in view, construction of three more stations of the first stage of the third line is planned to be completed over the coming two years. In 2022, we intend to launch construction of the second stage,” Mr. Kukharev informed, adding, “The fourth metro line is also being designed at present. It will be ring-shaped and create a comprehensive completed metro network in Minsk by connecting the existing three lines.”
