Combat Brotherhood 2023 exercises to be held in Belarus on September 1st-6th
The joint operational and strategic exercises – Combat Brotherhood 2023 – will be held on the territory of Belarus on September 1st-6th, the Defence Ministry reports
It is noted that joint and special exercises are planned as part of the general plan of Combat Brotherhood 2023, which will combine the training of various components of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces).
The Defence Ministry reported that the drills will be held jointly with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces – Interaction 2023. The tasks for the use of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in order to resolve a crisis situation in the Eastern European region of the CSTO collective security will be practiced. There will also be special exercises with the reconnaissance forces and means of the CSTO armed forces (Search 2023), as well as special exercises with the forces and means of material-technical support of CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) (Echelon 2023). In addition, special exercises will be organised with the joint force of radiation, chemical, biological protection and medical support of the CSTO (Barrier 2023) will be held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus for the first time.
Polygons and terrain areas of the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions will be involved in the exercises. The participating military contingents will begin to relocate to Belarus tomorrow, August 25th.
