According to the MSB Director, ‘greater ambition is needed’ to quickly strengthen Sweden’s civil defence and ability to resist armed attack.

“I respect the difficult decisions that the government and parliament will have to make next year<...>. At the same time, I want to make it clear that significant investment will be required to achieve the opportunities that policy has so far signalled. MSB calculations show that we need about 20bn Kronor per year to take real steps towards the civil defence goal,” the publication reads.

The Swedish government, as reported by TASS, has instructed MSB to propose priority civil defence measures for the period 2025-2030.
