Sunak: Ukrainian pilots will start UK training in a few weeks
Western instructors will start training Ukrainian pilots in the United Kingdom in the coming weeks – as noted by Head of the British Government Rishi Sunak, TASS reports
During a speech in the House of Commons of the British Parliament, the politician said, “We are leading a coalition that should equip the Ukrainian Air Force [with new fighters]. Ukrainian pilots will start training here in just a few weeks.”
The news agency recalled that the intention to start training the first twenty Ukrainian pilots in the UK next month was previously announced by Deputy Defence Minister James Hippie. The British ‘wards’ will be trained in the management of modern fighters. According to TASS, the British Air Force does not currently possess F-16s that are capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
The coalition of allies of Kiev, who intend to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine in obtaining the F-16 and training pilots, includes eleven countries, including Denmark, the Netherlands and the United States.
