Sri Lanka increasing tourist visa fees

The Sri Lankan authorities have increased the country's tourist visa fee by $15-20 from December 1st, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Association of Tour Operators in Russia

From December 1st, the fee for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) valid for 180 days has increased from $35 to $50 per adult tourist. As informed by Sri Lanka’s Embassy in Moscow and Intourist, the same amount is now have to be paid for an ETA with the validity period of 30 days if a double visit is possible.

A foreign bank card is needed to register an ETA online. This service can also be provided by tour operators when booking a trip and paying in Russian Roubles.

Visa on arrival will cost $60; previously, $40 was to be paid for it.

As reported, children under 12 years of age are issued entry permits for free.
