Spain to send six Leopard tanks to Ukraine
The Spanish government plans to send six Leopard tanks to Kiev – as noted by Spain’s Defence Minister Margarita Robles, speaking in the Congress of Deputies (lower house of parliament), TASS reports
She explained that Spain ‘has Leopard 2A4 machines, some of them were in Zaragoza and were not used’.
“We are currently repairing six Leopards with the ability to [repair] more if necessary,” added the head of the Spanish defence department.
Earlier, Robles explained that more than 800 Ukrainian soldiers have already been trained in Toledo, Madrid, Zaragoza and Seville.
“A couple of days ago, another group [of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine] arrived. We carried out 54 transportations of various materials to Ukraine, 42 by air,” she added.
The Spanish Defence Minister also previously stated that the Ukrainian military would be trained in Leopard management in Spain.
