According to the expert, China has entered a new period in history.

“Within the framework of the ‘new approach’, the internal life is being rebuilt and the structure of the government is changing. Other approaches are also used towards foreign policy, with new concepts being put forward, such as strategic security. That’s why China has begun to pay increased attention to Eastern Europe and the Ukrainian conflict. Beijing makes statements and proposes its own plans for a settlement,” Yuri Tavrovsky underlined.

The expert believes that in its foreign policy, Beijing relies on the idea of a great rebirth of the Chinese nation.

“China cares about the whole world. It went out into the open ocean, and has a lighthouse. I’m referring to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Chinese activity in this or that part of the world and Beijing’s statements should be viewed through this prism. The People’s Republic of China, relying on its economic achievements and increased integrated power, is moving forward,” Yuri Tavrovsky noted.

Earlier, China’s Foreign Ministry presented proposals for a political settlement of the crisis in Ukraine. In its plan, the PRC, in particular, noted that the only real way out of the Ukrainian crisis could be only negotiations.
