Shakiev: no disagreements between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus on political, economic and humanitarian issues

Within the framework of the autumn session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states in Bishkek, the Chairperson of Belarus’ Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, met with the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlanbek Shakiev, and the latter stressed that the Kyrgyz side intends to expand and strengthen co-operation with Belarus in all areas

“I am sincerely glad to meet with you in Bishkek at the CIS platform and discuss topical issues of Kyrgyz-Belarusian co-operation,” Nurlanbek Shakiev said. “The Republic of Belarus is an important partner of the Kyrgyz Republic both in a bilateral format and within the framework of common regional integration associations. We have no disagreements in political, economic and humanitarian issues.”

In turn, Natalya Kochanova noted the importance of developing co-operation based on mutual trust and the successful implementation of agreements between states. “The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, is always constructive and kind to all peace-loving countries," she said. “You were able to note this at your meeting with the President of our country and in the congratulation of the Jogorku Kenesh on the anniversary. We assure you that we will do everything to economically support each other in the humanitarian sphere and absolutely in all directions.”

The Kyrgyz parliamentarian expressed hope that the good dynamics of co-operation that has been established between the states will continue. “Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding inter-parliamentary relations with Belarus," he added. “I am pleased to note the results of my official visit to Belarus in October this year, during which we were able to reach a number of agreements on the most important issues of interaction. In particular, we signed an agreement on co-operation between the parliaments of our countries.”
