S. Korean intelligence reported that DPRK may conduct nuclear tests in 2024

South Korean intelligence believes that the DPRK is unlikely to be able to conduct nuclear tests and launch new reconnaissance satellites before the end of this year, but it may well do it in 2024, RIA Novosti reports

According to the Yonhap news agency, South Korean intelligence does not record signs of a seventh nuclear test in the coming days. The probability of conducting tests in 2023 is low, but they can be carried out at any time next year if there is an appropriate decision by Kim Jong Un.

South Korean intelligence also noted that the value of spacecraft launched by North Korea remains low. The analysis of the satellite debris that the DPRK tried to put into orbit in August of this year showed that the resolution of its camera exceeds 1 metre, which makes the information received from it little suitable for reconnaissance purposes.
