In his talk with Belarus 1 TV channel, Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov shared his thoughts on why Poland shifted from confrontation to dialogue as for co-operating at the border

According to the FM, Poland has demonstrated a ‘tough, sound pragmatism’ to Lithuania, “Poland is better at counting money and it really wants to be a partner in setting a very serious logistic, transport hub in its territory. That’s what they are striving for.”
Maxim Ryzhenkov emphasised that the goal of the earlier border confrontation with Belarus was to draw undue attention from the European Union, NATO and key partners in these organisations in order to get great deal of financial contributions allegedly to ward off the threat from the East, “Today, decisions have been made, money is starting to come, being used, and Poland can now slowly move away from confrontation and towards fostering dialogue on a different level. These are very pragmatic people.”
