The temporary trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Mongolia lays the groundwork for expanding mutual trade — as stated by Belarus’ Deputy Industry Minister Leonid Ryzhkovsky at a forum marking the agreement’s implementation, held at the Minsk Tractor Works, BelTA reports citing the Belarusian Industry Ministry
Signed on June 27th, 2025, the agreement will come into force on July 22nd, 2026. From that date, customs duties on 367 product subcategories will be either removed or reduced for both parties. The agreement is set to last for three years, with an option to automatically extend for another three years.
Mr. Ryzhkovsky highlighted that the temporary trade agreement provides a foundation for enhancing trade in areas such as industry, agriculture, energy, transport logistics, and innovative technologies.
“This is an ideal moment to intensify our efforts,” the Deputy Industry Minister stressed. “The progress of trade and economic co-operation with Mongolia now largely depends on us. We need to significantly increase our activities and proactively take charge of building business relationships.”
The participants of the forum also discussed concrete advantages for Belarusian companies and promising fields for co-operation.
