According to the local Kompas portal, the billboard text reads: ‘Bali welcomes all foreign tourists. As tourists, you are not allowed to work in Indonesia. Any foreign citizen who shows disrespect or violates the national legislation will be deported from Indonesia and banned from entering the country’. An English version is also available.

As noted by the Head of Information and Communication Department at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Putu Suhendra Tresnadita, the billboards are an appeal to foreign tourists, who are not allowed to work in Indonesia. "If a foreigner violates the rules, he can be deported and banned from entering," he said.

According to the official, the use of Russian on billboards in addition to English is due to a large number of Russian-speaking foreigners in Bali. “It is expected that – thanks to billboards in Russian – these people will be able to easily understand the content of the appeal," Mr. Tresnadita added.
